JOB TITLE:                            Breakfast Attendant

REPORTS TO:                      Manager / Supervisor

 

 

 

Summary

Main duties include setting up and breaking down each morning’s breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items such fruits, breads, cereals, and bakery items remain stocked, maintain the safety and cleanliness of the buffet area and leaving it in preparation for the next day.

 

Duties

  1. Duties include setting up and breaking down each morning’s breakfast buffet, ensuring buffet items such as fruits, breads, cereals, and bakery items remain stocked, maintaining the cleanliness of the buffet area and leaving the area ready for the next day. This may include restocking silverware, all condiments, light food preparation, refilling beverage containers, mopping, wiping, and sweeping. If the hotel offers a full breakfast, the attendant may perform duties of a restaurant waiter or busboy. Attending to food orders or guests’ requests, clearing tables, and providing or refilling drinks.

 

  1. Attendants are also tasked with acting as representatives of the property they are employed by, and are required to provide a welcoming atmosphere to guests. Paperwork, record-keeping, vacuuming, or other custodial tasks may also be delegated to the breakfast attendant. Other duties may be assigned by management as seen fit.

 

Skills

  1. Ability to perform all the duties of a breakfast attendant.
  2. Must have good communication skills.
  3. Must adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  4. Should be courteous, efficient, and friendly.
  5. Must have the ability to multitask.
  6. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  7. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  8. Work with cleaning chemicals.
