HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

 JOB TITLE                 Housekeeping Supervisor

REPORTS TO:          Housekeeping Manager 

Summary

Supervises work activities of Housekeepers and House porters to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms and common areas of the hotel. Assigns duties and investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action. Take periodic inventories, train new employees, and recommend retraining.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for quality to of cleanliness.
  2. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.
  3. Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs.
  4. Coordinates work activities among departments.
  5. Inventories stock in Linen rooms to ensure adequate supplies.
  6. Makes recommendations to improve service for more efficient operation.
  7. Prepares reports concerning room occupancy.
  8. Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
  9. Inspect rooms to determine need for repairs, replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to management.
  10. Attends staff meetings to discuss department current topics.
  11. Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
  12. Advises manager, desk clerk, of rooms ready for occupancy.
  13. Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions,
  14. Screens job applicants, and recommends promotions, transfers.

  8. Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
