HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT
PUBLIC AREAS ATTENDANT

 JOB TITLE:                            Public Areas Attendant

REPORTS TO:                      Housekeeping Manager                                                               /Housekeeping Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  1. Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
  2. Clean assigned public areas throughout hotel.
  3. Empty trash in all public areas and clean public area restrooms.
  4. Clean all mirrors, inside of windows, wipe and dust all surfaces, keeping all brass shiny.
  5. Vacuum carpets or sweep where needed.
  6. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  7. Report necessary maintenance items.
  8. Monitoring all hallways and restrooms for cleanliness.
  9. Empties ashtrays and urns.
  10. Polishes furniture and fixtures.
  11. Vacuums and polishes elevators.
  12. Keeps the front of the hotel free from trash.
  13. Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and shampoo machine.
  14. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
  15. Clean and maintain all equipment daily.
  16. Comply with Lost and Found Policy of the Hotel.
  17. Assist Guest in Public Areas when required.
  18. Good knowledge of all hotel facilities, hours of operation etc.
  19. Post caution signs as and when required.

 

Physical requirements

  1. Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  2. Frequent lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs., kneeling, pushing.
  3. Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.

 

Customer Service A lobby attendant ensures visitors have an enjoyable experience by answering their questions or addressing any concerns they have. The attendant also may direct guests to the front desk or other amenities such as gym facilities, pool, or the hotel restaurant
