JOB TITLE:                            Barista

REPORTS TO:                      Manager / Supervisor 

Summary

Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers. Sells coffee, coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies. Prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers. Sells coffee, coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies. Prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies.
  2. Welcomes customers and determining their coffee interests and needs.
  3. Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu and answering questions.
  4. Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
  5. Generates revenues by attracting new customers, defining new and expanded services and products.
  6. Maintains inventories, replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies.
  7. Keeps equipment clean & operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, calling for repairs.
  8. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  9. Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and improving the processes, implementing necessary changes, maintaining, and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Promotes & enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
