Our Beginnings

In 2010, Peter Mendez was hard at work, building what would become 1st SOS Staffing while cleaning rooms for his first clients. Peter envisioned a staffing agency founded on kindness and respect.

That spirit continues to guide 1st SOS Staffing as we’ve expanded nationally. Many of our team members began their careers in the same roles that we help others prepare for. We support everyone who walks through our doors: we believe in diversity that makes a difference and that jobs can transform lives.

Peter Mendez
President & Founder

Peter founded 1st SOS Staffing in 2010 and has steered the company to become the largest hospitality staffing provider in South Florida and beyond. Driven by his values of trust and respect, 1st SOS Staffing is known for its exceptional service and innovative solutions and has helped over 10,000 families transform their lives through new opportunities. Peter brings over 35 years of experience in finance, business consulting, and entrepreneurship. He attended Dartmouth College and is a sought-after speaker serving on various Boards.
Rosanna Guembes

Rosanna brings 30 years of experience in hospitality. She previously served as the Complex Manager at the Fort Lauderdale Westin and Yankee Clipper, -1,200 units for Starwood. She is also certified in the Starwood, Hilton, and Forbes standards. Rosanna has directed our company since 2015.
Pedro Garcia
EVP Sales & Business Development

Pedro has spearheaded our growth since 2016 and is almost single-handedly responsible for launching our organization into a $40 million-a-year firm. Before joining 1st SOS Staffing, he served as senior sales exec for Hotelier, the largest linen service provider in Florida. Prior to that, Pedro was distinguished as the top sales executive in the Southeast region for FedEx.
