JOB TITLE:                            Housekeeper/Room Attendant

REPORTS TO:                      Housekeeping Manager/ Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Summary:

Cleans guest rooms, working areas.  Demonstrates a professional, friendly, warm, and welcoming manner to all guests and employees.  Schedule must be flexible, lift 50 lbs., stand for extended period, bend, push repeatedly, team player.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests and responding to queries.
  • Changing bed linens and making beds.
  • Replacing used towels and other bathroom amenities, such as shampoo and soap.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Vacuuming carpets.
  • Dusting and polishing furniture.
  • Emptying waste cans.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Updating status of guest rooms on assignment sheet and guest room telephone.
  • May include cleaning kitchen area, and room refrigerator.
  • Returning and cleaning cart at shift end.
  • Turn in all lost and found items according to Department instructions.

Physical requirements:

  • Position requires walking and standing most of the working day.
  • Must be able to pace yourself to accomplish your quota of rooms at the end of the shift.
  • Ability to follow directions, perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy. 
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Replenish supplies and equipment as needed during the shift.
