 JOB TITLE:                            Server

REPORTS TO:                      Manager / Supervisor

 

Summary

A restaurant server must have food knowledge, takes orders, answers questions about the menu, recommend the restaurant menu items, and drinks, takes payment, communicate orders with the kitchen staff, seats customers, helps with customer service and cleaning. Also known as a waiter or waitress. Proper grooming attire, flexible schedule, Professional courtesy.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Prepare dining room tables for customers as trained.
  2. Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  3. Presenting menu and knowing the specials of the day, offering cocktails, identifying appropriate wines, and answering food preparation questions.
  4. Stay updated on current menu choices, and specialties.
  5. Transmit orders to bar and kitchen, identifying guests’ special dietary needs and special requests.
  6. Keep guests informed of meal progression.
  7. Deliver guests requests from bar, or other requested items.
  8. Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed.
  9. Properly open and pour wine for guests.
  10. Conclude dining experience by inviting guests to return.
  11. Address customers issues and refer to the Manager if necessary.
  12. Prepare and present the check to the guest, accept payment, return signed slip, and credit card to the guests.
  13. Perform basic cleaning tasks as required.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Previous serving experience needed, team player, must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  2. Excellent communication skills required.
